In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted Dec. 3 to 8, 2025, 59% of Americans said they are more concerned than optimistic about the impact of artificial intelligence on America's future.

That includes 31% who said they are much more concerned and 28% who said they are somewhat more concerned. About a third were more optimistic (35%), while 6% said they did not know.
