Americans are split on AI's growing role in society

Asked about "the growing role of AI in society," U.S. adults tilt about evenly toward hope and worry, a June 2025 Verasight survey finds. Thirty-six percent feel optimistic about where the technology is headed, including 11% who are very optimistic, while 34% feel pessimistic, including 14% who are very pessimistic.
Roughly a quarter of adults (26%) feel neutral about it, and another 3% are not sure.
