Core finding

Nearly half of Americans (48%) agree that judging whether God exists calls for a different kind of evidence than an everyday factual claim, including 13% who strongly agree, according to a May 2026 Verasight survey.

About a quarter (23%) disagree, including 10% who strongly disagree, while 29% neither agree nor disagree.
