Nearly half of Americans haven't used any AI tools for work
Core finding
For all the tools on the list, 46% of Americans have used none of them for their work — no chatbots, no office AI features, no coding assistants — according to a Verasight survey of 1,509 U.S. adults conducted July 30-Aug. 4, 2025.
The other 54% have used at least one: 34% a conversational AI like ChatGPT, 27% AI features built into Google Docs, Microsoft 365, or Notion, and 17% Grammarly or another writing tool with AI integration. Fewer have used AI-powered video or content tools or a coding assistant like GitHub Copilot (5% each), image generators like Midjourney or DALL·E (4%), or something else (2%).
