Most U.S. adults who have used AI for mental-health or emotional support (55%) say interacting with it about their feelings has been at least somewhat beneficial, including 18% who say it has been very beneficial, according to a Verasight survey conducted Sept. 3-8, 2025.

Within this group, 28% call the experience neither beneficial nor harmful, and 8% say they haven't used AI for this. Reports of harm are rare: 9% say the interactions have been harmful, including 4% who say very harmful.
