Nearly two-thirds of Americans are satisfied with local police

More than six-in-ten Americans (63%) are satisfied with the police in their neighborhood, an even mix of very and somewhat satisfied at 31% each, according to a Verasight survey conducted Oct. 1-11, 2024.
About a quarter (23%) are neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, while roughly one-in-seven are dissatisfied (14%), including 6% who are very dissatisfied.
