A sale is the best pitch to get a friend to grab a candy bar
Reading
In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted Aug. 1-6, 2025, the pitch most would use to talk a friend into a candy bar at the drugstore is the bargain: 40% would go with the line that it's on sale, two-for-one.
Nothing else comes close: 18% say they wouldn't use any of these lines, while 16% would offer to split it, 11% would tell the friend they deserve it after all they've been through, and 10% would bring up eating these growing up as kids. Relatively few would try a health angle, whether that it's healthy enough (4%) or not even that bad for you (1%).
