A slim majority don't favor male candidates over female ones

In a January 2024 Verasight survey, a slim majority of Americans (51%) disagree that they would rather vote for a male candidate for elected office than a female one, including 24% who strongly disagree.
Fewer take the opposite view: 15% agree and 11% strongly agree, while 23% are not sure.
