Americans divide almost evenly on whether people who share their racial, gender, religious, or sexual identities face significant oppression in society, with 34% agreeing and 30% disagreeing, according to a Verasight survey conducted Feb. 28 to March 6, 2025.

The single largest share, 36%, neither agrees nor disagrees. Conviction runs even at the extremes, with strong agreement and strong disagreement at 12% each.
