Nearly half of Americans (47%) neither agree nor disagree that media portrayals of their race or ethnicity reflect the diversity and complexity of their experiences, according to a Verasight survey conducted Aug. 20-25, 2025. Those who take a side divide almost evenly.

About a quarter (26%) agree, including 5% who strongly agree, while 27% disagree, including 10% who strongly disagree.
