Americans don't line up behind any one region as the driving force in congressional and presidential elections. More see influence everywhere than anywhere in particular: 26% say all of the regions are influential, and 21% aren't sure, according to a December 2025 Verasight survey.

The Northeast comes closest among the individual regions at 16%, followed by the Midwest at 14%, the South at 11%, and the West at 9%. Just 3% say none of them stands out.
