Belief in the Devil is widespread, but it varies

A majority of Americans (58%) at least moderately believe in the existence of the Devil, including 26% who absolutely believe, according to a May 2026 Verasight survey.
An almost identical share (26%) doesn't believe, including 16% who say they absolutely don't. Another 17% are neutral or unsure.
