Day-to-day updates are what Americans post most on social media

About a third of Americans (33%) say random events, from daily-life updates to memes and spontaneous thoughts, are what they have posted most on social media over the past two years, according to a Verasight survey conducted Feb. 28-March 6, 2025.
Moments of fun such as vacations and parties come next at 27%, while 11% say their most frequent posts mark achievements like marriages or graduations, and for 8% it is something else entirely. About one-in-five (21%) do not post on social media at all.
