Americans overwhelmingly vouch for their own candor: 80% say they always gave their own true views over the course of the survey, according to a May 2025 Verasight survey.

Another 11% say they almost always gave their true views. Outright roleplaying is rare: 7% say they sometimes roleplayed rather than answering as themselves, 1% say they mostly roleplayed, and 1% say they always did.
