In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted May 22 to 24, 2024, 8% of Americans said they would feel very prepared if a disaster occurred in their area tomorrow.

Another 36% said they would feel somewhat prepared. About a third said they would feel somewhat or very unprepared (35%), while 21% said neither prepared nor unprepared.
