Few Americans plan to retire to Florida anytime soon

Nearly half of Americans (48%) say they are not planning to retire to Florida, and another 27% say they are not planning to retire at all right now or are unable to, according to a December 2025 Verasight survey.
An additional 13% have no timeline and are just researching options. Relatively few have a move in sight: 5% say a year or more out, and 7% expect to move within the next year, combining those who say within the next three months, within three to six months, and within six to twelve months.
