Asking a supervisor about your prospects for advancement is, for most Americans, an occasional thing at most. A plurality (41%) say they do it occasionally, the largest single response, according to a Verasight survey conducted Feb. 28-March 6, 2025.

The rarer end comes next, with 20% each seeking such feedback infrequently or very infrequently, while just 19% do so frequently or very frequently.
