Seven-in-ten Americans (70%) say they went to an American restaurant in the past month, more than any other cuisine, according to a January 2025 Verasight survey. More than half (53%) say the same of Mexican restaurants, and 46% of Chinese.

Fewer report visiting Japanese (17%) or Indian (9%) restaurants, and 12% say they have not gone to a restaurant at all in the past month.
