Many Americans say they aren't lonely
Core finding
About a third of Americans (33%) say they are not at all lonely, according to an August 2025 Verasight survey.
The rest report at least some loneliness, from 18% who feel slightly lonely and 17% a little lonely down to smaller shares who feel moderately (13%), quite (8%), extremely (6%) or very lonely (4%).
