Most Americans express some satisfaction with their lives

In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted May 11, 2026, 66% of Americans said they were at least slightly satisfied with their life. Including 31% who said satisfied, 20% who said slightly satisfied, and 15% who said very satisfied.
About one in five said they were dissatisfied with their life (22%), with 9% who said slightly dissatisfied, 8% who said dissatisfied, and 6% who said very dissatisfied. Another 12% said they were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.
