Most Americans say universities focus too much on race and social justice
Core finding
Americans who see universities as too focused on race and social justice outnumber those who disagree by more than two to one. About two-thirds (68%) agree American universities have become too focused on questions of race and social justice at the expense of traditional topics of study, including 31% who strongly agree, according to an October 2024 Verasight survey.
About a third (32%) disagree, including 8% who strongly disagree.
