Most Americans (79%) disagree with the statement that they take pleasure in the failures of others, including 55% who strongly disagree, according to a Verasight survey conducted Feb. 28 to March 6, 2025.
Another 15% neither agree nor disagree, while just 5% agree, including 2% who strongly agree.
