In a Verasight survey of 3,000 U.S. adults conducted Sept. 22 to 29, 2025, 79% of Americans said the United States has an obligation to act against an ongoing genocide.

That includes 28% who said the U.S. should intervene using all necessary means, 26% who favored limited intervention, and 25% who favored non-military intervention. Another 11% said the U.S. should condemn the genocide but not intervene, while 10% said it has no obligation to act.
