Asked how often over the past 12 months they went without period products because they could not afford them, most U.S. adults (64%) say they have not menstruated in that time, according to a November 2025 Verasight survey. One-in-five (20%) say they always had the products they needed.

That leaves 17% of all adults who went without period products they needed at some point in the past year, including 3% who say it happened all or nearly all months.
