About seven-in-ten Americans (71%) agree that they are part of a long chain of actions and consequences stretching from the past, including 21% who agree completely, according to a May 2026 Verasight survey.
Another 18% neither agree nor disagree, and 11% disagree, including 3% who disagree completely.
