Verasight surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults from November 14 to 20, 2025. 44.0% of Americans say they would be likely to support someone they know with a substance use problem, such as by attending a meeting or helping with money or treatment, and 8.1% say they would be unlikely. Another 32.6% don't know anyone with a substance use problem.

Very likely accounts for 25.8% and somewhat likely for 18.2%, while 15.3% are neutral. The shares cover all adults, including those who do not know someone with a substance use problem.
