# For many Americans, sleep schedules are inconsistent

Most Americans say their sleep ran on an irregular schedule over the past month: 58% report bedtimes and wake times that were at least somewhat inconsistent, including 15% whose times varied by more than three hours from day to day, according to an April 2025 Verasight survey.

The other 42% report consistent schedules, including 6% who kept the same bed and wake times within 15 minutes every day. The most common pattern, at 25%, was times drifting by one to two hours a day.
