Medical librarians remain unfamiliar to many Americans

In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted Nov. 14 to 20, 2025, 54% of Americans said they were not aware that medical librarians exist.
About one in five said they have access to medical librarians for help finding reliable health information (19%), while 16% said they do not and 12% were not sure.
