More Americans call themselves slightly overweight than anything else

More Americans describe their weight as slightly overweight (41%) than as anything else, ahead of the 35% who consider it about right, according to a December 2025 Verasight survey.
All told, nearly six-in-ten call themselves overweight (60%), including 18% at very overweight; a slim 5% feel underweight and 1% prefer not to say.
