Sustainability has four-in-ten support among Americans in U.S. dietary guidelines

In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted March 6 to 16, 2026, 41% of Americans supported considering environmental sustainability in recommendations in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Including 11% who strongly support and 29% who somewhat support.
About a quarter opposed it (23%), with 12% who somewhat oppose and 11% who strongly oppose. Another 36% were neutral.
