Professional and technical roles lead the job levels Americans report

More Americans report a professional or technical job than any other level: 22% place their current or most recent role there, from engineers to analysts to nurses, according to a Verasight survey conducted July 30 to Aug. 4, 2025.
Managerial roles (20%) and service or manual-labor jobs (20%) follow just behind, with junior or entry-level staff at 18%. About one-in-ten identify as executives (11%) or give another answer (10%).
