Core finding

In a Verasight survey conducted Aug. 1-6, 2025, sales stands out as the insurance job Americans recognize most, with 61% familiar with it.

About half (52%) know the broker role, and roughly four-in-ten recognize claims analysts (43%) and underwriters (38%). Fewer are familiar with market researchers (27%) or actuaries (22%), while one-in-four (25%) know none of these jobs.
