Six in ten support government help with fuel bills

Governments sometimes help consumers cover fuel costs like gasoline and home heating. About six-in-ten Americans (63%) support that kind of assistance, including 33% who strongly support it, according to a Verasight survey conducted Sept. 22-29, 2025.
Close to three-in-ten (29%) are neutral, and fewer than one-in-ten (8%) oppose it, including 3% who strongly oppose it.
