When asked whether the comment "Military leaders and retired generals know it" crosses the line into incivility, more than six-in-ten Americans (63%) say it does not, a January 2024 Verasight survey of 3,000 U.S. adults finds.
The other 37% find the remark uncivil, judging it rude, disrespectful, or unreasonable enough to push someone out of the discussion.
