In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted April 9 to 15, 2025, 83% of Americans disagreed that, in the national interest, a dictatorship would be a better form of government in the current situation. This includes 41% who strongly disagree and 41% who somewhat disagree.
