## Reading

A slim majority of Americans (51%) would not grant the right to vote in U.S. presidential and congressional elections to any of the groups presented, according to an October 2024 Verasight survey.

Among those groups, lawful permanent residents who have applied for citizenship draw the widest support (25%), followed by all adults who have lived in the U.S. for at least five years (19%) and 16- and 17-year-old citizens (14%). Support for the other three options ranges from 10% down to 3%.
