Nearly half of Americans say climate change will harm future generations a great deal

In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted March 6 to 16, 2026, 46% of Americans said climate change will harm future generations a great deal. Another 19% said it will cause a moderate amount of harm to future generations.
About three-in-ten said it will cause only a little or no harm to future generations (29%), with 16% who said only a little and 13% who said not at all.
