Political participation matters to eight-in-ten Americans

In a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted May 22 to 28, 2025, 80% of Americans said participating in politics is at least somewhat important. Including 43% who said very important and 37% who said somewhat important.
About one in five said political participation is not very or not at all important (20%), with 13% who said not very important and 8% who said not at all important.
