A majority of Americans (62%) agree that most supporters of their own political party view the other party as fundamentally wrong and not to be trusted, including 26% who strongly agree, according to a July 2025 Verasight survey of 506 U.S. adults.

Just 9% disagree, including 4% who strongly disagree, while about three-in-ten (29%) take neither side.
