Three-quarters pick free expression over guaranteed income as the better system
Core finding
Given a choice between two political systems, Americans come down on the side of open expression, according to a September 2025 Verasight survey. Roughly three-quarters (73%) say the better system for the U.S. is one in which everybody can express their political opinions without fear or censorship.
The other 27% prefer a system that guarantees access to a basic income and services for all citizens, even if that means people cannot express their political opinions freely.
