## Reading

For most Americans, joining a protest unprompted is not something they have done or even weighed. Roughly two-thirds (66%) say they have never spontaneously joined a protest and have never considered doing so, according to an October 2024 Verasight survey.

About one-in-six (16%) have done so at least once, combining those who join regularly, occasionally, or a single time. A comparable share (17%) have never joined but say they have thought about it.
