Core finding

On social media's embrace of TikTok-style clips, 31% of Americans say platforms should use a mix of both short-form and long-form content, more than back any single alternative, according to an April 2024 Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults.

The rest sort into two camps, and the critical one is bigger. The two answers calling short-form content not beneficial draw 37% of Americans combined, including 18% who think platforms should use long-form content instead; the two favorable answers draw 32% combined, including 12% who call short-form beneficial without reservation.
