Most Americans rarely travel to other states or countries
Core finding
More Americans travel out of state rarely than at any other frequency: 39% make such trips just once or twice a year, according to a Verasight survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted July 14-24, 2025.
A quarter (25%) never make the trip at all, putting a combined 64% at twice a year or fewer. The remainder go more often: 24% travel three or four times a year and 13% manage five or more.
