Verasight surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults from August 13 to 18, 2026. 43.0% of Americans report some difficulty or more with social activities because of a physical, mental or emotional condition; 57.0% report no difficulty.

Some difficulty accounts for 30.5%, a lot of difficulty for 11.3%, and being unable to participate for 1.1%. Examples include visiting friends, attending meetings and going to parties.
