Core finding

More than half of Americans (57%) worry at least occasionally about losing their home, including 8% who worry about it constantly, according to a January 2024 Verasight survey.

Occasional worry is the leading single response (28%), while 11% worry very frequently and 10% somewhat frequently. About a quarter of Americans (26%) never worry, and 17% do so only rarely.
