Nearly eight in ten say the people they care about value voting
Core finding
A September 2023 Verasight survey finds that roughly three-quarters of Americans (77%) say the people they care about consider voting important, including 55% who see it as very important and 23% who see it as somewhat important.
About one-in-nine (11%) are unsure what those people think. Smaller shares say the people close to them view voting as not that important (7%) or not at all important (4%), and about 1% say those people disapprove of voting.
