Americans see Starbucks as pricier than other coffee chains

Core finding

Three-quarters of Americans who have heard of Starbucks (75%) think its prices are higher than at other national coffee chains, including 35% who say they are much higher, a September 2025 Verasight survey finds.

About one-in-six (16%) say the prices are about the same, and 8% are not sure. Almost no one thinks Starbucks charges less: just 1% say its prices are somewhat or much lower.
