Core finding

For most people who spend time on Verasight and other survey sites, the draw is simple money: a majority (60%) say extra cash is their reason, according to an August 2025 Verasight survey.

Passing the time runs a distant second (17%), followed by helping others (10%) and treating it as a hobby (7%). Fewer describe it as a gig (4%) or as work (2%).
