In a Verasight survey of 3,000 U.S. adults conducted Sept. 22 to 29, 2025, 50% of Americans said extremism in the United States has gotten a lot worse in the last five years.
Another 45% said extremism has gotten somewhat, moderately, or a little worse, while 4% said there has been no change.
