Almost everyone says people skills matter
Core finding
Half of Americans (50%) say interpersonal skills such as getting along with people and resolving conflicts are extremely important, according to a Verasight survey conducted July 30-Aug. 4, 2025.
In all, 94% rate these skills at least somewhat important, including the 29% who say very important and 16% somewhat important. Just 6% say they are not too or not at all important.
